Dear AAIM,

Last Saturday, several refugee families from Iran and Cuba played the 'Hokey Pokey' with AAIM volunteers and staff after walking in the CROP Walk to raise money for hunger relief! For many of the refugees, this was their first visit to an American park. The CROP Walk is a remarkable project and part of the money raised will go to support refugees and disaster victims around the world.

In order to ensure that our faith community is prepared for disasters close to home, Texas Interagency and Interfaith Disaster Response (TIDR) and AAIM will be co- hosting a FREE disaster preparedness workshop for the faith community on Tuesday, March 13. Registration is required and a few spots are available so call to RSVP today.

Finally, AAIM is honored to be invited by Triumphant Love Lutheran Church for the second event in the 2007 Interfaith Passport series. Read below for more details.

Yours in faith,
Rev. Emilee Whitehurst

This e-mail is a service of Austin Area Interreligious Ministries (AAIM). Our goal is to alert Austin's faith communities as well as the "spiritually curious" about events that may be of interest. Please note that AAIM does not presume to endorse the events we publicize nor do we necessarily share their faith perspective. We do, however, find these events to be worthwhile contributions to the diverse religious and cultural fabric of our city.
