Upcoming AAIM Events & Activities

|
Dear Friends,
Thank you to all the volunteers who made
last Saturday's World
Refugee Day an enormous success.
Refugees resettled in Austin over the years
had a chance to share their stories
of personal triumph.
In the past year, AAIM's ESL (English
as a Second Language)
classes have grown in order to offer more
refugees
the language skills necessary for survival in
the US.
Currently, four ESL teachers work
with 50+ students at multiple levels of
instruction. Continue to
read the biweekly AAIM eVoice to stay
informed about AAIM's work with refugees.
In July, AAIM continues its innovative
Interfaith Passport program at
North
Austin Muslim Community Center.
It's never too late to participate in an
Interfaith
Passport event. Bring your family
and friends for this important educational
opportunity. See below for details.
Yours in faith,
Rev. Emilee Whitehurst, M. Div
A family from Congo celebrates Austin
World Refugee Day on Saturday, June 23 at
the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest.
This year's theme--A New Home, A New
Life highlights the refugee spirit of
making a new beginning.
