How then does the journey of interfaith dialogue begin? The answer, of
course, is through a single conversation -- by truly listening to those
who share the journey with us.
This November the Austin Community will have the unique opportunity of
sharing a beautiful interfaith experience through a new program called
the Amazing Faith Dialogue Dinners. These free dinner events are being
brought to you through a partnership of Austin Area Interreligious
Ministries, the Institute for Interfaith Dialogue, St. James Episcopal
Church, and The Seton Cove.
On Thursday, November 13th, individuals will be gathering at homes
scattered throughout the Austin Area to break bread together and share
their individual faith stories in a profoundly respectful and peaceful
way. We invite you to join these dinner events either through hosting a
dinner, moderating a discussion, or simply participating in one of the
dinner dialogues.
Inspired by the book, The Amazing Faith of Texas, The Amazing Faith
Dialogue Dinner program is a national effort created right here in
Texas, by Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston. On November 13th,
this program will spread beyond the borders of Texas and will be taking
place in cities all across the nation. Imagine it -- hundreds of dinner
conversations happening at the same time in homes from coast to coast.
It is truly a "first step" of historic proportions.

Hosts will be asked to prepare a simple, vegetarian meal for between
8-10 people, moderators will be trained via a simple telephone
conversation that last no more than one hour, and participants will be
matched to homes that are close to their own residences. Every effort
will be made to ensure that true religious diversity will be present at
every home.
(Note: If you would like to participate as a moderator,
please contact us directly at 386-9145.)
Please join us for a beautiful evening of shared stories, deep
listening, and "first steps" on Thursday, November 13th.
